依照台灣法規，仲介收取移工服務費有嚴格上限，頭三年的每月最高收費分別為1800元、1700元、1500元。超收、要求「買工費」或直接從薪資扣除皆屬違法。但移工在母國繳交高額仲介費卻是公開的秘密。
